Latinos are growing in population. But they still aren't anywhere near the majority. There will come a time when you will have to have this demographic to win an election. But this hasn't arrived yet. That said, losing the latino vote isn't helpful.

The Hispanic population is mostly in the Southern states. In the electoral votes, California is almost always Democrat. Arizona is Republican. New Mexico is Democrat. Texas is Republican. As far as I know none of them is really a swing state, therefore there is still a still a good chance to win. Plus, there's no other Republican candidate taking a stance against illegal immigrants, so it gives him a better chance in the Primaries.

EDIT: Thanks to everyone below pointing out some swing states with Hispanic populations. I didn't do much fact checking and it's interesting to know. I checked www.270towin.com and wikipedia and from what I can tell...

Arizona : 29% Hispanic, Speculated as a possible swing state, but historically Republican.

Florida : 20% Hispanic, Swing state

New Mexico : 44% Hispanic, Historically Democrat state

North Carolina : 6.5% Hispanic, Republican leaning swing state

Colorado : 20.7% Hispanic, Swing state

Utah : 13% Hispanic, Strongly Republican state

Nevada : 26.5% Hispanic, Swing state

Maybe you are right. I don't think trump will win the nomination but if he does, I suppose we will find out.

But also, if he wins, I think we will see some movement in his policies to shore up the legal immigrant vote.

He'll pick a latino VP like Hulk Hogan and he'll be a sure win.

He just signed the loyalty pledge, which means he won't have to worry about it because he won't be running for office.

I dunno. The other republican candidates aren't exactly the A-Team

Electoral college. Bush Jr proved that you can lose the popular vote and still win the election.

You've listed states with tiny electoral counts. If he carries New England and one of TX/FL, he has a real chance at winning.

It's a full year before the elections. The Trump is a side-show. Nothing more. Don't sweat it.

No, not unless the Democrats run a candidate so bad that a significant number of democrat voters either don't show up, vote third party or in the very unlikely case vote for Trump.

If Hillary wins the primary, I am probably voting Trump.

Yup...if it's going to go down, it's going to go down in flames -- with marvelous hair to boot.

My Latino wife is fanatical about this guy! She is convincing all of her Latin friends to even campaign for him. I think the only Latinos not liking him are those blinded by the Latin media.
