Short answer, yes. I'm 6'4" and 180 lbs and I wear a large.
Edit: Oops, I meant that opposite thing.

I'm 6'5" at 250 lbs and wear XL unless I want to show off my party ball ab, then I wear a L.

I'm 6'4" 180 pounds (BMI 21) and I sometimes wear M, but I am Dutch (land of the tall).

I'm 6'3" about 190 and I almost always buy XL over L just because of the length of the shirt and sleeves, as opposed to how well it fits around the chest. So to me it does seem a bit odd that you're happy with the length of the shirt.

I'm betting more in the legs. I'm lean and tall and I've gotta look extra hard for shirts that fit and don't look baggy since most stores sizes don't get much longer, they just get wider.

Nope, you're fine. I'm the exact same but I have big legs from playing sports my whole life. I feel like a little kid in a XL tshirt.
