nerite snails may tend to escape, you'll want a good lid. as far as other stuff; it depends where you want your action. a little school of corycats really livens up the bottom. apistos and rams are just plain awesome for bottom to mids but they can be bullies. a gourami or a school of hatchets will tend towards the top. course if your shrimp breed its doubtful any youngins will survive past feeder stage

don't think you need the dyi and excel, should be fine with one or the other.
also, just 15 tetras and 10 shrimp? you know that's only maybe halfway stocked?
