In the US, beer typically comes in 12oz (355mL) bottles or cans. However, lots of European brands are sold in bottles that appear the same size, but only contain 11.2 oz (~330 mL). It seems like a rip-off since it's close enough you usually don't notice at the store, but you get home and you feel like you're missing almost half a beer per six-pack.

Oh I forgot about those cans, for me they seem normal but I would never buy any beer less than half liter. If I am buying beer, I probably wont drink just one so those cans really are a waste of money. Those beers you are talking about are overrated and overpriced.
