I'm still trying to figure out the outrage over makeapp. I had no idea that some women valued their masks to this extent.

The sad part is that he developed the tech to remove makeup of trafficked child prostitutes to aid their rescue. They are often disguised with makeup and can't be tracked by photographs.
The app is in development. With public contribution of photos, the machine learning algorithm improves overtime. Women took its rudimentary results as an insult to their primary asset, their looks. The level of outrage was worse than if than if the app could simulate a naked body because it wasn't flattering. Women need flattery like flowers need sunlight. Meanwhile, child prostitutes are out there surviving and these journalists don't care.
They're solipsists.
