I think this is a good idea. Depending on the time of day, a random visitor to the site could believe it's only about hating fat people, or only about right wing politics, etc. This way, they get to see a rounder version of events.

I do believe that was only for its first month here on voat, to give other subs a chance to grow, and then FPH renabled the option to be on the front page. It's possible I missed something though, have the sub on block so I don't get any news out of there.

But it's members do push their agenda in every other sub they go to. In many non-hate subs we're starting to see small invasion forces of people from fph, niggers, blackpeoplehate, etc who create multiple accounts which they turn around and farm CCP in like-minded hate circles until they're allowed to vote. Then they use them to vote up their political submissions and comments in other places while downvoting anyone who opposes their ideas. Personally I'm seeing this a lot in /v/science.

How do you set your posts to not appear on the front page?

No more digging around for easy-going content.

Depending on the time of day, a random visitor to the site could believe it's only about hating fat people, or only about right wing politics, etc.

Isn't it pretty much only about those? The top posts on /v/all at the moment are

1 /v/fatpeoplehate

2 /v/niggers

3 /v/fatpeoplehate

4 /v/news (right wing politics link)

5 /v/science (one comment)

6 /v/pics

7 /v/fatpeoplehate

8 /v/fatpeoplehate

I mean if the goal is to hide the most active communities from newcomers, then it's probably a good idea (if growth is a goal for Voat).

That isn't what is happening though. Only the front page is affected. Not /v/all which is where FPH is located.

@Anther so I don't have to write another comment directly to you.

When will the user preference become available?

This. I don't presently see any option for the new frontpage setting in my user control panel.

I'm also unable to locate an option for this.

@Atko - Same here. I've been looking in the preferences to opt in to no avail.

Very nice!

@Atko could logged-in users please have four different frontpage modes available as quick links:

  1. Official front (same as logged-out)
  2. All
  3. Subscribed-only front
  4. Favorited-only front

As implied, I would like to request the functionality to Favorite subverses.

The rationale is that you would like to subscribe to any good subverse you come across, but you only care for keeping up in detail with a few key favorite subverses. Today, your Subscribed-only Front and My Subverses list quickly end up spammed by all the other subverses you are only moderately interested in, but would forget about if you unsubscribed.

A tiered subverse subscription model would greatly enhance usability. Even just the ability to bookmark/save subverses without actually subscribing would be very helpful.

So I'm proposing a three-tiered subverse subscription system:

  1. Favorite
  2. Subscribe
  3. Bookmark/Save

Quicklinks in, say the top/header frame, to every single Favorited subverse would be great too.

Thanks!

Will there be a way to apply this to /v/all? because that would be really nice.

It's not a filter. It's a sorting algorithm. It would still be /v/all just with different ratios of sub representation. They would still all be there.
