We have noticed a rather large decline in Voat's performance lately. This is almost entirely do to cost cutting measures on the hardware side. In an all out effort to reduce operating costs we have consolidated servers and reduced VM specs of the backend machines.
We are feeling the consequences of this.
Even though we have included many optimizations and refactored logic to facilitate this transition, it has proven to not be enough. We need more and are currently looking into bottle necks, inefficient use of cache, and new ways to deal with Voat's unique issues.
I know it hurts not to have a website serve you promptly, but know that we will soon have fixes in. Users with large amounts of CCP/SCP and submissions are experiencing the most issues. This is not acceptable.
Please bare with us. We will overcome these limitations like a real goat would.. If you are able, please donate (but only if you have the means).
I just purposely killed the legacy API on the preview site. Just figured I'd let whoever keeps hitting it know it's dead now.
We have received 0 NS/FISA requests.
