Shortly we will be pushing a very important backend change to how Voat handles comments.
If all goes well you will notice very little. :(
This update offers new comment sorting algorithms (New, Top, Old, Intensity, and Bottom), support for in-page async comment sorting (no more full page refresh), and comment cache syncing (comments will be synced with cache meaning that new comments will be immediately visible, edited comments will show their state change, and user deleted comments will be removed from the tree upon deletion.)
This is the last major piece of functionality we needed to port in order to merge the UI and API code bases. This means the full API is right around the corner!
I'll be watching v/voatdev for new posts so if you see anything we missed please let us know.
P.S. We may move database servers tomorrow, so there may be some downtime associated with this. I'll keep this post updated if we decide to do it.
Edit: It's done NSFE (not safe for eyes)
Edit 2: We will most likely do some database work tomorrow. Should be less than 30 minutes, just heads up in advance.
Edit 3: Sorry about the up/down in the last few minutes, needed to reboot some servers.
We have received 0 NS/FISA requests.
