It may be because of the fact that both sides (humans and bears) want to keep their constituents separated

I found it interesting how the conflict is illustrated as a yuri encroachment upon ursan society in this chapter, contrasting the previous narrative of ursan hostility and savagery. There's definitely a lot of historical revisionism shaping both cultures: on the ursan side as a way of appealing to their dogmatism of a promised love, and on the yuri side as a way of justifying the demonization of the species they deem as opposition.

At least in the western world, the gay community is somewhat divided. There are those that preach open sexuality and use of it as an identity (as you previously described an ursan association to carnal lust), and those that push for acceptance of homosexuality without purely associating it with indecent PDA (emotional expression as the basis of love in yuri society).

This show needs more Milin.
