Open-minded, immunized, desensitized, I'll take any. Either way, I feel you, bro.

This is normal.
One of the biggest advantages of consuming fiction is building empathy. You get to really understand a whole lot of people in a short time through their stories and it affects how you see people in real life.

I can't remember the exact quote, but it was guy saying that he's lived hundreds of lives because he has read hundreds of stories.
And i remember the general idea of the quote because of its impact on me.

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one.”

I was actually thinking the other day that one of the main things that let me start thinking outside of the box was anime, not necessarily because it forced me to accept the unreal (which it did), but because it showed me that the best of something (entertainment for me at the time) could come from somewhere unknown. I learned more about Japan due to an interest in anime, which opened me up to an interest to cultures all around the world.

There's also the other side anon.
The side where you join up with a few others to say your taste is better because you claim to not watch a certain type of shows.
Don't be like them.

When you've gone through dark anime with bodies and blood flying everywhere, people going through severe mental and depression problems, seeing characters getting physically, mentally and sometimes sexually abused, watched quite a bit of hentai and dabbled into tentacle porn, your mind does tend to get... enlightened and more receptive to newer beliefs and thought systems.
Exposing yourself to such a diverse amount of events that happen in the anime world does get you to open up to newer things. Allows you to see more connections between people, their reactions, their true inner selves.
I understand ya comrade. Brofist

While looking at all the ways of thinking is healthy it's also good to form your own opinions too. Don't just be a mirror. And dont be afraid to challenge people on their beliefs, sometimes there is a clear right and wrong.

My opinion is everything is right and wrong depending on the observer. Just don't kill, don't rape, don't steal, don't lie. :D
