I guess I'm in the minority here I felt like it ended a lot stronger than it started. Dare I say I liked it for the genericness of it. To me it felt like McDonald's not great but consistent and after watching a couple anime here lately like Shin Sekai yori I needed something without an Overwhelming atmosphere and a little predictability.

Congratulations on completing Shin Sekai Yori; your world will never be the same again

I loved it until the last episode. It quite literally turned into a promotion for the VN. I wish I were ignorant of the fact that before the last episode there was a huge VN marketing push, and then I could have misunderstood it as just a leave it to the viewers ending instead of a buy the full version ending. The absolute worst part is it was trumpeted as an original anime. I feel like it betrayed my expectations completely.

Other than the crappy ending, I enjoyed the characters and art style a lot. MAPPA is really making a name for itself and quickly rising in my personal ranking for studios.

I had a completely different viewing experience. I dropped it pretty quick because it didn't show any signs of continuing the story they (badly) tried to establish and just kept showing fan service that had no other reason to be in the show except to keep people watching their horrible attempt at an anime.

There was no innovation, the characters were bland, and it just went nowhere.

I gave it a 4/10. It's ok, nothing more.

I feel like MAL is a horrible baseline. My own list is about 2 points average lower than MAL.

I'm not trying to be elitist, it's just the nature of the beast. People drop anime they aren't interested in and then tend not to rate them since they never finished or cared enough to add to their list. Because of that there is a bias where the people who end up rating a show are the people who completed them and in general enjoyed them more.

So the reason my list is 2 points lower than average is because I tend to stick out shows I dislike more than other people. Ironically I guess it could be because I actually have lower standards rather than elitist ones.

I dropped it just before "that" happened. I don't know what "that" is but people over at that other place started to get really hyped over it.

As much as I love Uchikoshi, I pray that he never attempts to write an anime again. His style is too uniquely suited for video games and results in a horribly inconsistent pace and numerous loose ends when applied to a twelve-episode anime.
