So im trying to repurpose a spare s8 ive got. Rooting it never seems to stick (keep getting 'official binaries only' error, but thats another tale) from what ive read having access to root only lets you fuck with ports lower than 1024 anyway.
So ive been teaching myself how to build up a server and website, and have actually got both hosted and working, so while the phone is behind my home router, the router handles the dynamic dns and port forwarding, meaning i can access everything externally via my host name from.my fileserver to my security cams. Its pretty cool.
But my next problem is this -
If i then go fully mobile with it, noip updates the host name to the mobiles pulbic ip fine, but ill be fucked if i can figure out how to open any ports! (Wanting to use 3000,3001,3002,3199,3299)
Only app ive found claiming to do it is port fwd which most definately does nothing of the sort and has a 'fully featured' online help system with less than 100 words in total.
So tl:dr - want to forward ports from public mobile ip to the ports handling my stuff on the same phone. Yes? No?
