One thing important - many countries WANT these US bases. I live in Poland and remember when soviet military bases were here. Our life standard was shitty, we were not allowed to leave our country (unless you had a permission for a passport and just the minority of people had), our economy sucked and basically we had little to no perspectives. Now we became the servants of the USA, and instead of soviet soldiers we have us soldiers. Instead of being brainwashed by soviet propaganda we are brainwashed by us propaganda ... BUT ... the living standards increased tremedously, we have much more freedom of expression than we used to have (actually more then US right now), and if we don't like it here, we are free to go wherever we want. It's not perfect but it is an improvement.

Thanks.

In discussing global geo-political events, I think sometimes we lose sight of the fact that there are real people who are affected by these things.

I suppose that is true, communist Marxism is probably worse than capitalism (even though cultural Marxism is ironically enough being pushed throughout all of the western capitalist states). However, why settle? Instead of being brainwashed by US propaganda and eventually having your children being replaced by arabs and africans in the future, fight for something better. Fight for truth and the betterment of western people.

You don't understand. I'm not saying to settle for what it is. I'm saying that there is a path and you go step by step. Step 1: get rid of the soviets (done). Step 2: improve to some day become fully independent. Step 3: Don't let fucking "refugees" into our country (this has so far been done - no "refugees" are let in Poland).

By brainwashing you mean free market capitalism and witnessing the most powerful country/empire in the history of the world while protecting you for free, then yes.. that is brainwashing.

Free market is great. I wish the USA had a free market where every company is treated equally, no matter their political influence and relations. By brainwashing I mean showin how US is awesome, while it is a country which also has a lot of problems and which also causes a lot of problems. We are not protected for free, we purchase US products, we use US services, we use US banks and pay a lot for the relation with USA, and what had some value, was sold to US investors much cheaper than it was actually worth. Feel free to visit and see for yourself.

what people do not realize is that violating airspace is common practice, almost every airforce does it...

Remember when Russia violated Turkish airspace and after multiple warnings their bomber jet was shot down? Well I haven't heard about any Russian jets straying over into Turkey since.

On one hand you have Russian jets posing a potential risk to lots of people and equipment and a also doing risky manoeuvres, but on the other hand they're not at war so it's known to be a bluff.

The US reaction seems to be fairly limp though.. this is kinda the equivalent of someone sighting a gun on you, but saying "well the safety was on and I wouldn't shoot you"... something like that?

Just another WTF down Donnie's pandering foreign policy statements. At one moment he wants to provoke war and bomb them all and the next he says he wants to back off what we've been doing. Who the fuck knows what he actually will do.

Not that I support his statement, but did he ever say he should back off or make friends with Russia? I know he said USA should back out of the middle east but.

People only ever get into gunfights with people who are shitty shooters.

Did he really say that? That's a bit scary. I say if they want to fly jets too close the US should do the same, but I don't think it wise to escalate.

We need to respect international waters, etc. Stuff like this only escalates to war which is likely to happen if Trump is elected.

MAD worked... What causes war is the enemy thinking they can win.
