Corn existed in nature. Monsanto has bastardized it. Don't think they would hesitate to do the same to humans for cash.

I imagine some day it will become advantageous for humans to alter their genetic makeup. Maybe people will receive genetic updates just like a computer receives a bugfix. What are the implications? Do you think companies will make mandatory genetic additions if you are to be their employee? Will there be laws that give companies rights over you if your genetics possess their proprietary genes?

Hah, that's an interesting thought. No, I'd not considered it.

That corn has man-made genes. Don't be born in a lab and your fine. Monsanto only owns their specific gene not all corn.

There are no man-made genes involved. They splice in genes from other species.

If that gene goes into other fields, they own the crop there as well. If my genes end up in offspring, would they not do the same? They already have precedent in non-mammal life.
