The problem isn't austerity. It's the rampant corruption, way too many public officials, ridiculous laws (e.g. you can only build an amusement park in cities with more than 40k people), and a living standard not backed by the economy but by debt.

They need to do way more than just save a couple euros here and there, it's just a drop in the bucket.
