You wanna see the Saxons wake up?

For those who haven't read it, here's "The Wrath Of The Awakened Saxon" by Rudyard Kipling.

It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy — willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not suddently bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

White people. We're really really chill until we are pushed to the brink. After that we're historically the most destructive force on the face of the earth. Think of the term "gun nut"

The Saxons were a group of early Germanic tribes located in what is now northern Germany. They were one of the peoples to conquer much of Britain following the fall of the Roman Empire, and eventually commingled with the Angles (hence the term Anglo-Saxon). This led to the first English kingdom.

The reason they are terrifying is they were notable warriors (and often considered barbarians for their pagan beliefs). During the rule of Charlemagne, they were a constant thorn in his side, raiding along the Rhine pretty much anytime he was distracted with other matters. They refused to convert to Christianity and join the growing Frankish empire, until they were decisively conquered by Charlemagne and underwent forcible baptism and Christian conversion (many historical pagan sites and artifacts were also destroyed during this time). In England (called Angle-land), they resisted viking conquest. Moreover, the King of Wessex defeated Eric Bloodaxe (a prominent viking invader) in 954, consolidating the disparate kingdoms into one land under Anglo-Saxon rule until 1066 and the Norman invasion.

TL;DR - Saxons are barbarian badasses that kick ass and take names.

Think patient, cunning, watching, waiting, and hating for decades until the perfect opportunity or turn of history strikes to kill. White folks be a certain kind of crazy.

TIL that the quiet anger that builds for decades has been seen before.

In the U.S. it is called it white flight. Self segregation. But this poem pretty much sums it up.

Naw, this is more after you can't leave anymore and you "deal" with it as a rage seethes beneath the calm exterior.
