When I was young a former captain in the red army said to me, "it is absurd to believe that people are created equal". I had never once questioned equality but as I had great respect for this man I allowed myself to consider the veracity of his statement.

Except his statement carries some validity (hereditary diseases, genetics, etc), and can be contemplated on a logical level.

They're literally complaining because the country they're trying to seek refuge in has a tradition that "triggers" them. Lawd all mighty, they've gone full retard.

Seriously. If they don't like the country they're immigrating/seeking refuge in, then go to a different fucking country. I'm very much in favor of multiculturalism (being a product of the multicultural culture of the US northeast... If that can even be a thing.) That petition is the height of rudeness.

That's a misconception of the purpose of equality. Equality of Opportunity is not the same as Equality of Outcome. In an equal society, all people are treated equally, even if they may not be, so that they at least have the opportunity to prove themselves.
