Well then stop consuming news that quotes anonymous sources, or stop consuming news that has a history of misinformation. Restricting rights is rarely the correct answer. You are advocating for what? Giving up another right for ‘the safety of society?’ Seems like something we’ve been warned about in the US by one of the founders.

I don't consume that news directly, but I do hear about it constantly.

The right of the free press and the right to religion seem easily abused to me when unscrupulous people abuse those rights to lie and destroy society

Precisely, punish the perpetrators, not the populous. The same type of person that is abusing the system will abuse any changes in the system as well, usually to the detriment of the powerless or weakly positioned. They will not stop because you changed one of the rules to make it harder. They will just search for more opportunity through system loopholes.
