The war my grandfather fought in is finally ending!

Does anyone else think Trump may have had something to do with this dramatic change of attitude?
Something like:
"If you don't stop your slant eyed crazy bullshit we'll blow your shithole country and its inhabitants to the fucking moon."
Sounds reasonable.

I think we used rods of god space weapons to take out their nuclear facilities and Pompeo ended CIA control of NK. Trump ordered it.

nope. china's been trying to corner the world market in rare earth minerals. even having old electronics sent to them to be recycled at a very high cost. NK has some of the worlds largest deposits which are basically being mined at slave wages, which are then being sold to china. what does this mean? it means that war with north korea means war with china.
Then a week or two ago japan finds an endless supply for rare earth minerals off their coast. china's plan to corner the market falls apart, and the NK regime loses all the leverage it has with china.
but Trump is going to get the credit anyway, because the public at large can't be allowed to know what is really going on. And that's what makes it all the more sweet. Trump gets blamed endlessly for things he never did like colluding with russia and sexual assault, and now he's getting credit for something he had nothing to do with.

Not at all how it happened. Keeping face is very important in asian culture, and ending a siyuation like this is seriously hard. They found a way to make kim appear like the one who came up with the idea, and trying to have him end this bullshit without losing face. Gonna be hard with the people tho... curious to see how it turns out.

This is unprecedented. Never since the armistice of 1953 has a North Korean leader crossed over to the Southern side.
Thanks Donald!

Imagine if Killary won... Home front would have been a reality instead of this. Thank God.

Probably not. I doubt even Hillary could Benghazi away the strongest navy the world has ever seen. We have the ability to protect the entire world's shipping lanes. They'd have a lot of swimming to get a ground force over to us.

Way to make this sound ominous.

I can't imagine what actual reconciliation would be. North is in actual biblical famine, South has the best internet in the entire world.

Going to have to be controlled heavily. Germany is not a model for this as they at least had the semblance of industrialization in East Germany. North Korea has nothing. The rush across that border would drag the South down and make it incapable of supporting anything. The US could take what we spend on military in Korea, close those bases and remove our troops, and use the money to help them reunite. Might be worth it to us in the long run.

Great, now Lil Kim can starve the S. Korea too.
