The stuff really does work. Pharma companies lobby against it because the attempts to patent it are failing. The real thing is as effective or more effective than their shoddy imitations.

Think of all the money pharma companies could lose if all (or most) seizure medications are rendered useless in relation.

And there you have the reason for it being illegal all of this time....

We've been living under absolute tyranny.

What? No.

Despite its medical usefulness, many Americans’ attitudes towards cannabis shifted at the turn of the century. This was at least partly motivated by Mexican immigration to the U.S. around the time of the 1910 Mexican Revolution, according to Eric Schlosser, author of Reefer Madness: Sex, Drugs, and Cheap Labor in the American Black Market.

“The prejudices and fears that greeted these peasant immigrants also extended to their traditional means of intoxication: smoking marijuana,” Schlosser wrote for The Atlantic in 1994. “Police officers in Texas claimed that marijuana incited violent crimes, aroused a ‘lust for blood,’ and gave its users ‘superhuman strength.’ Rumors spread that Mexicans were distributing this ‘killer weed’ to unsuspecting American schoolchildren.”

Even though there was no evidence to support claims that marijuana had a Jekyll-and-Hyde effect, 29 states outlawed marijuana between 1916 and 1931. The Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 essentially banned it nation-wide

There was zero thought of medical use. At the time, people attributed the higher crime rate among blacks and browns to the marijuana, and not to their genetics and culture.

It is CBD, and not THC, that mediates the neurotransmitter GABA which plays a role in the onset of seizures.

Not a fan of THC, because I don't enjoy the high... but in this case, both THC and CBD taken in equal portions show efficacy for central and peripheral neuropathic pain. There's other synthetic cannabinoids that are in the process of trials showing positive effects, too.

I believe it's CBD. I bought a CBD salve and it works great for muscle pain.

THC gets you high, CBD is medicine.

most compact and simple way of it you can get, would be tinctures or edibles?

Is it possible to make a medication that has the desired effects without the high?

Absolutely! It has already been done. CBD extract is widely available in my state, though I read recently that it was made a Schedule 1 drug (I could be wrong).

To be perfectly honest, I was experiencing minor seizures a year ago and decided to use CBD. Since then I have been seizure free.

Now you realize the absolute fear big pharama has against cannabis and why it's been relentlessly attacked for decades now.

everywhere

You're not exaggerating. This plant is called weed because it grows like one.

I have grown for medical and state recreational and now I have seedlings popping up around my grow area. We will see "wild marijuana" in America in no time. And that'll be a good thing because the plant is healthy for the land too.

It's known as "ditchweed" in many places. Dunno if that's due to ditches not getting mown, or to all the baggies of seed pot being thrown out of car windows.

I just wish we didn't need government permission to use it. It should be available over the counter at any pharmacy.

10 people didn't like this yet I see no logical reasons in the comments. People that have a problem with marijuana are retards, nothing but recreational aggression. Have nothing better to do so you want to get pissed off at a good thing to get reaction. Anyone one against a medicine that helps people to not have siezures is a piece of shit scum bag.

Jesus, imagine having 100 seizures a day. Poor little guy, glad he found something to stop it. Make this shit legal already.
