So, how long until they will pick up talks again to beg for foreign aid?
By now, even China becomes increasingly annoyed by the mannerisms of its vasall state. Should Big Brother withdraw its supports, NK would collapse within a matter of weeks, if not days.
From what I've read, the party officials actually are aware that things won't continue like this for much longer, and actively have started to shift their wealth into third-party states.
An interesting question would be whether, should the North Korean regime fall, South Korea actually would pursue reunification - most of the people who still remember the country as one political entity are slowly dying away, and bringing the North on level with the South likely would require trillions of dollars in industrial and humanitarian aid.
