How about a non-exclusionary option that hedges humanity's bets in many ways at once?
Any time someone suggests that protecting whatever gene pool might be a good idea, they're labeled a racist, or supremacist, or whatever. I don't think I've ever heard anyone (maybe some crazy muslims?) say that they really wanted anyone else exterminated.. it's more that no one wants their group to be wiped out.
So, please excuse this rough idea, and feel free to contribute... how about a racial preservation movement? Look, we are all here for a reason. Different parts of the globe require different strategies to thrive. I'd rather not see any intelligent life wiped out, whether it be primate, whale, or whatever.. the more intelligent Earthlings that can coexist going forward, the better. Maybe only one can survive on Omicron Persei 8. Maybe we need humpback whales, specifically, to answer an alien probe's calls. I wish Neanderthals and whatever was on the Orangutan branch, didn't die off.
My proposal is that we are intelligent enough to not have a "winner take all" take on existence.
Again, I doubt I'm the only one who doesn't feel like my group is superior, and wants sole use of the planet. I'd just like my group to not be wiped out. What if my group is necessary to colonize the system? What if it's not my group, but another? What if one is necessary to get to the belt, but another necessary to thrive there?
I think very few care about domination. Only the sickest minority. I think everyone can get behind not wanting to have their genetic strategy wiped out, though.
I don't know how the groups break down. I know there are terms like Aryan, Mongloid, Negroid, etc.. I don't know how scientific they are. Whatever the case, I don't want to see any of them go. Another way to say it is, I don't want to see all of them go just because we have networked us all together, and can get anywhere on the planet in matter of hours. I think that is very shortsighted.
If we could take all the strengths of every group and Serpentor ourselves into humans 2.0, great, but it doesn't work that way. Certain combos might be advantageous in some ways, but take a step back in others. Can you take a heat disapating Kenyan, & combine him/her with an Eskimo, for a super weather resistant person, or does it just end up being adapted for neither? Again, there is a reason for the genetic diversity!
What if each strategy or branch of genetics had a "homeland" where they were best adapted to live? Where it was always 99.5% of the population... maybe on an island? Maybe there could be "melting pot" continents, or islands, where those there knew that was the direction things were headed, and you could either be a part of it, or go live among your group. Or maybe you might want to request that you be allowed to live among the tiny minority with a differing group for whatever reason.
Really what I am talking about is a perspective, & maybe semantics, issue.. if you bring up not wanting to have "your people" dissolve into humanity soup of history, people call you a racist, or supremacist... what if you could answer that none of us know which adaptation could be useful going forward. That you're not opposed to "mixing", and you don't believe any branch is better than another, and so maybe there is also a benefit to not mixing. There's plenty of planet to go around. Why not have both?
I think the answer to that question brings us back to the tiniest of sick minority that is interested in domination for some crazy reason. They're using a fear of the winner taking all to keep us divided and conquered. I say we can do better, and it has absolutely nothing to do with hatred, or exclusion.
