Yup. We had tens of millions in damage here in California from that, but the waves were much reduced in size by the distance. Our match for this will be the Cascadia Fault that will wipe out coastal Washington and Oregon. People living there will have little chance.

I live on the coast of the Puget sound... I line to think that the islands will save us and failing that, there's a shit ton of high ground around here, we will be fine as long as the earthquake doesn't set off mt baker

Yow. Check out the expected tsunami inundation zone maps, and then double or triple the height for safety. I lived through an earthquake, and they don't really tell you about the decade or so of economic devastation that follows, assuming you survive the first week or two. Although certain sectors benefit from the recovery efforts. With any luck, it won't happen in your lifetime.
