I don't mean to disgust you, but yes they are fairly common in pretty much all seafood, but usually they're microscopic.

Although parasites are disgusting to see, they're harmless if you cook your fish thoroughly or freeze it beforehand (which is a good idea if you make raw dishes like sushi). You're at much greater risk of getting sick from bacteria, which can be found in any type of food, and can be avoided with proper storage and handling.
