The goreposting is specifically intended to drive off normies, and it works; that's why they do it, not that they enjoy it.
But, why, you may ask?
Because communities like that can only be subverted by an influx of new members who are not only unfamiliar with the site culture and 'mission', but will displace and eventually drive out the original members with their own, turning it into just another copy of the places they came from.
This defeats the purpose of the site, since where a cohesive group of similar-minded individuals can operate freely can they spread their work/message/information to the rest of the net.

Now, you could try your little 'curated' version of Voat, but I don't really see the point, since most normies are completely comfortable in their little mainstream bubbles of Twitter, Faceburg, and what-have-you, that there really wouldn't be any added benefit in drawing them away from that when our targets are all collected in one place.

Thank you for comprehending my topic, and communicating in a coherent and on-topic way. Yes, your point is well taken, about maintaining a 'hard core.' That, I assume, is why 4chan has been a source of several valuable thing online, and that is why Voat is still a special place.

Normies who are dedicated to remaining such, are not who I have in mind. I am thinking of those who are noticing that as society appears to be dissolving at an escalating speed, the mainstream media are not actually reporting on relevant things. For sure, there are lots of 'alternative media' news sites, already, and I assume they are growing in number. My thought is that, because Voat appears to me the best place for relevant content, Voat would also be a source of the best content for those looking for information outside msm. You could relate it to Linux, where some distros are made to seem more familiar to Windows users who are interested in trying Linux out.
