Hey! what's up, I'm really excited about VR film making (and VR in general), I'm planning on using it in marketing and I'm trying to find as much info as I can on the topic with not so much luck.

I think the best and easiest way to start would be Google Jump, GoPro is supposed to make an announcement in the middle of July (kind of vague) about the Jump rig. I've applied for the beta test and signed up for the news letter with no luck, no email at all

I'm going to take the liberty of linking to a thread I made which involves VR film making, probably with a different approach as yours How would voat go about starting up a VR marketing company?

The future is here but people will not understand until they see by themselves.

I've seen many VR videos and this is one of the best, make sure you check it out if you haven't already, my grandma almost jumped out of her wheel chair to look around the Club hahaha Robin Schulz

Let's stay in touch and find that info we're looking for.

There aren't too many people doing it that are active members of the VR community on here or Reddit or the Oculus forums that I know of. Mainly at the moment it's Hollywood companies, I don't know of much of an independent VR film community at the moment. That will change once the headsets have actually been sold and are out in the wild though! Sorry I don't have much to add.

I really think so too. I think were at the point where the technology is ready to go. The last time in the 90's I think the headsets/hardware were ready, (anyone remember the 3d glasses for the game Decent????) but it was the network (i.e. ineternet) that kept things back. No way to distribute the massive files required for content. But Augmented reality and VR is going to be HUGE this time around. Even the first generation alpha demos coming out now are mind blowing. Imagine what it will be like in 36 months from now.

Things like the microsoft hololens and google glasses with tthier AR will become the norm in 24 plus months I predict.

Hey. ya, seems you about summed it up. Not a lot going on at the moment. I'm playing with a bunch of stuff in the studio. It's exciting to be in the very forefront of all this, but man, lots o mistakes and false starts for sure. I guess that what makes it fun though.
