I am beginning game development in unity with the purpose of getting deeply into VR interface designing and game design. I know that Mobile VR and desktop VR are pretty different so I wanted to ask you all for your opinions.
Mobile VR will be the medium to take VR into the public at-large. The mobile industry is growing tremendously and is much more widespread than powerful desktop computers around the world. But the quality at the moment, compared between the two, favors desktop VR.
I want to enter the VR world at my best by impacting the most people possible. So I think Mobile VR is the route I'd like to go. Are there any huge drawbacks in hanging out purely in Mobile? What do your workflows look like? Do you make desktop VR apps and then 'downscale' them into mobile experiences?
