I loved this game as a kid, but I also recognized it was utter crap. I later learned that most of the intro library for the NES was what we would consider shovelware today. To put it in perspective, the first games my family got were this and Athena. Both utter crap, but this one at least held my pre-teen focus for a few minutes at a time.

The controls were much worse than this video states, and you saw a bit of the character going invisible when shot, one thing that might not be apparent was that all your momentum stopped as well. If you didn't go invisible you got knocked back when shot. This led to frustrating and/or hilarious consequence, depending on if you were the one playing at the time.

The game had two phases, in general a two-part side-scrolling platform level, followed by a side-scrolling shooter level with a boss. The shooter bits were a lot more fun, and a lot more frustrating, than the bits shown in this video. The guy playing in this video clearly failed at walking forward in a straight line with a couple jumps, which is almost all that's required to make it to the end of this first bit.

The video also touched on the overall meh-ness of the game. Everything about it was average, except the stuff that was broken, which made it close to unplayable. Despite that I liked the look of it, and it was a challenge to avoid some of the glitchiness, giving certain levels an artificial difficulty much higher than they initially looked. With as clunky as this game is, I bet there are some truly exploitable glitches, but I doubt it would be worth looking for them, which is a shame in and of itself.

In conclusion, this was a bit of nostalgia for me. If suddenly there was a NES with this game in front of me, I'd probably say that's awesome, and then continue browsing Voat.

That was actually me playing the game and yeah, I been having problems recently. My reaction time is down to around 480 milliseconds which is far below average, I'm also feeling constantly tired. my have to see a doctor about what's going on soon. In any case, thanks for watching.

Golden oldies? Like as in good? These games are crap. The channel plays mostly crap games.

They need to invest in some time looking at what was "golden" during the NES era.

I have series called "retro shitsotrm" for that. Also, I judge them on the time they were released, if I were to judge them agaisnt things that are here and now, then pretty much everything pre- 1990 would be trash. Also opinions are opinions. I've met folks that would defend Dr. Jekl/Mr. hyde to the death, despite it being broken on almost every level. Or people that think the first NES Ninja turtles game was good.

People have rose tinted glasses, no matter the platform.

Um... What? You're saying these games have merit because why? Where is Contra, Shinobi, final fantasy, Zelda, Mario, Gorilla war, silent scope, Nemo, Double dragon? Maybe pick up a Nintendo power and read about what was popular.

I don't understand where you get "golden" from for the games you play. What is the criteria? Just whatever game you pick?
