First impressions are very important, typically speaking if the game just doesn't grab you ina couple hours then it probably never will. Folks will argue for games like ff13 that it gets better 20 horus in...not realizing that isn't a good arguement for the game. But yes, those are fine too.

Another good example is The Elder Scrolls Online. It earned a mixed reputation for its entire first year. But now that subscriptions are gone, the servers are fixed and DLC is regularly added, the game is actually quite fun. If only they would add Steam achievements!

First impressiosn can also be entirely repuation breaking. I gave wows latest expansiona decent review, but the more I played it the more I realized how shit it was. I guess the story here is first impressiosn are sometiems dead wrong.
