Wind is cheap if you don't leave Vancouver. When traveling outside the city you'll connect to a partner network (Rogers?) which costs 15¢/min, 5¢/text, and 5¢/MB. Their plans start at $25 for unlimited nation calling/texting & voicemail. $35 for unlimited data (throttled after certain amount).

So they have a special deal on for $39/month but it ends Dec 29. I'll be moving to Vancity in January. Is there anyway to reserve a plan? Or do I have to make a trip over there just to sign up? I also want to keep my existing number, is this possible?

Wind exists in many cities cross the country. Check if there's one near you. They should let you keep your existing number.

It seems like all the third party carriers like Virgin (Bell), Koodo (Telus) and Fido (Rogers) are running the same pricing - and these are going to be cheaper than the parent company plans.
