Are there any typewriters that allow the keyboard layout to be modified?

Not really as a stock option. It could be modified but it isn't very feasible. I have an eke truck that allows for swapping fonts so you could modify the ball and the key label but it would suck to work on such small and precise machinery.

If the font can be switched to the wrong letters, that should work. I don't care how the keys are labeled, just what they type. I use Dvorak.

As long as you burn the tape after writing a letter, you can produce a truly secure document. I'd be suprise if the government didn't bring this back for the most secure documents.

They are reportedly using typewriters in Russia to deter US spying.

Don't call it a comeback, they've been here for years!
