I'm glad you liked it. I was browsing lightly used subverses and came across the RI to MA generator fiasco, and wondered why they didn't use a barge. Why smash roads and fight with bureaucrats when you can float?
The worst part of this debacle is that a RI DOT engineer saw the truck and raised the alarm by chance. That's what makes it a total facepalm.

In Australia this incident could potentially kill a business. If it made it to a population centre it would put people in jail, possibly prison. Most road traffic authorities have a number of dedicated police like patrols that regularly pull trucks over for random checks, they would have swarmed on this. The moment it hit a major artery (All monitored for things like accidents and this very purpose) it would be pulled over. THAT BEING SAID, it never would have been allowed to hit the road in the first place, because you need to register permits and escorts for this sort of thing before it even gets loaded.
