Absolutely not. Developing a strong attachment and stress-free environment for your child under 3 is very important. There is lots of research to support this. And it goes along with natural, mothering instinct as well. So hold your baby, snuggle your baby!

Other resources include Rest Play Grow, Hold On to Your Kids, anything by Neufeld or Gabor Mate, original research by Ainsworth or Bowlby. The Montessori Toddler is good too, RIE and Janet Lansbury.
