Lol my grandmother misspelled my mother's name and my mother only bothered to legally correct it when she was about 40, I didn't even know until she did it.

I hate unisex names but I am tempted by some made up names (my husband tempers me there though and vetos them). I prefer long names but like a few short ones, I do like the idea that they can have a nickname and a formal name.

It's easy to get down on yourself when trying for a baby. I never tried to manipulate for a birth month or anything either. When trying for my first a lost a friend because she had an abortion and this time around it was taking so long and everyone seemed to be getting pregnant really quickly.

Thanks and good luck with your third!

The thing with "made up" names is that they don't tend to age very well, they really do ostracize people to varying extents (all the way into adulthood), and it disconnects them from their family tree...from EVERYONE's family tree...much like made up last names or hyphenation. Kudos to your husband...and you; a strong veto system is the way to get a name that works for everyone. I don't relish talking about them but I have learned miscarriages are FAR more common then let on and don't even necessarily indicate a problem or something you did wrong or could fix.
