Shawn, Jessie, Mary, Gordon, Rose, Literally anything just don't faggily look for your history.

Shawn: Irish version of Johanan, hebrew

Jessie: from Yiskah, hebrew

Mary: from Miryam, hebrew

Gordon: Gear Dún, scots-gaelic

Rose: Roese, norman

Literally all of those names have a "faggy" history which have nothing to do with America or Canada. If you're going to saddle your kid with a name for 70-90 years, might as well put a little thought into it and give them something that reflects their background.

If you really wanna go as far back as you can, the names should start getting African. Perhaps Tyrone or maybe Obala?

And you can trace your family's line back to a specific African culture can you?

Right, so unless you make up a name you're going to use a name that other people have used before. Doesn't means it's not American. Just like the names, the people were once European/middle eastern

You should try reading a bit of the bible, you will be surprised how many "modern American" names are in there. If you do this you will also learn that the whole "Humans started in Africa" thing is a lie.
