Look! It's mango.
I've been very, very, VERY busy. Expecting businessness to decrease by August then there shall be more time to chat with you lovelies.
I will add the recipe to this post later in the day as well as crosspost in /v/cooking.
Edit: Some months ago found this video
Pie Crust Ingredient List
- 3 cups flour ( ~13 oz)
- 1 1/2 TSP salt
- 1/4 TSP baking powder
- 1 cup chilled lard
- 1 TBSP vinegar
- ~4-5 TBSP cold water
and was dying to give it a try. I was waiting for mangoes to come into season. However, this year, no one wants to sell mangoes at a reasonable price even though the harvest are great so I got canned from Costco.
Mango Pie Filling
- 1 1/2 pound of peeled and cup ripe mangoes. If using canned make sure in water not syrup
- 2 TSP lemon or lime juice (if using fresh)
- 1 inch vanilla bean
- 1 TSP cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cane sugar
- 1/4 TSP grated ginger (half this for ground ginger)
- 1/4 TSP nutmeg
- 2-3 TBSP flour
Texture is that of peach pie. Flavor is sweet and tart.
