Me too, and thank some of you ladies for not saying cruel shit to your adolescent children like; "I wish abortion were retroactive!!!", that's just the phrase that will keep me from speaking to my mother ever again. And at the same time it's 'trad' women, even if they're not the perfect cookie-cutter 'trad', that keep me living with any point whatsoever...

I don't even have a loyal 'trad' lady these days, and trad to me just means; loyal, mostly traditional gender roles {I have done dishes and changed diapers, read to children etc.}, natural modesty in; body image or desires, hair color, style, etc., and being a 1 man woman, or 1 woman man....

Tanks for the heretofore unattainable..... Just living for that dream.

It has never been unattainable. There are more of us out there than you'd think - it's just that we aren't what feminism wants women to be, so we aren't the mainstream portrayal. We are a stereotype and a caricature instead. But there are a good number of us out there. Don't give up!

I'm sorry your mother was not worthy of the title. That sucks. I hope you understand that she said that because she has some serious problems inside of herself, and not because you are unlovable or something. Parents can be really cruel.

I called my mother and two sisters. My youngest son came out and wished my wife a happy mother’s day and apologized that he had no gift. I corrected him and said don’t listen to the TV, you’re not supposed to buy your mother a gift for mother’s day. All that is needed is a nod and wink and mom is happy. My oldest son had to be prompted, but he did it in a cool way. Moms happy, no money spent.

I give my mother small gifts on such days. When I visit I do more meaningful things like fixing her car, plumbing, whatever. Stuff that keeps me busy while she goes to work and others are off doing their own things, me being on break/leave/whatnot. I try to show my appreciation that she kept me alive long enough that I can keep myself alive by giving her some man-hours of work to fix shit she just doesn't think about.

You’re the reason mothers have boys and the reason your daughters marry strong men. My mother loves me, my mother in law adores me. I fix things.
