I homeschool my two kids (8 yrs old and almost-10 yrs old) year-round, and I take the opportunity to sign them up for summer camps to give us all a little break. They're enjoying themselves at Vacation Bible School this week, and I am enjoying this week too! I've been getting to the gym for the early morning classes, which I usually don't do (opting for evening classes instead), since we school in the morning. It's nice to get that workout early-on and have that high energy for the rest of the day! I've also been able to work on sewing projects without having to multi-task schooling or reading with them. I do love homeschooling my kids, don't get me wrong, but I am also loving this treat of a break! My plans for tomorrow include giving the house a thorough clean while the kids are away. They'll be at 2 other week-long summer camps in the next few weeks too--yay! Any other Traditional Wives/Moms have kids at summer camp? How are you keeping yourself busy? Any other suggestions for what I could be doing with my kid-free time?

Go on a date with your husband! We haven't gone out without at least one child for over a year (nursing baby). I have literal daydreams about it. Have a date for me.

Reading, taking a bath, drinking a cup of coffee or tea in peace, grocery shopping by yourself, watching any tv shows just for you while folding laundry. . . . Whatever you do enjoy your time.
My kids are a little too young for summer camps but my husband took them to the zoo, since it's close and we got a membership, the other day and left me at home. I cleaned and listened to diffrent youtube shows, I took a break and had a cup of tea in the peace. It was very much appreciated.

Sounds like you had a nice day!
I like your ideas. Grocery shopping without kids really is the better way to do it. I was thinking too of going shopping for some new, lacy, husband-pleasing underclothes while kid-free. That's something that I really never get to do, being surrounded by kids all day. I'm going to add those two things to my list for tomorrow!

Great idea! I'm sure your husband will appreciate that.
I did, and it wasn't even my idea.

I may be biased, but hitting up a farmers market and finding some nice fruit and making a jam may not be the worst idea in the world. Also, I love that you work out regularly- so good for the body, mind, and spirit!

I do a lot of cooking, but I've never made jam before and don't have canning stuff. Freezer jam sounds pretty easy though. Great idea!

Freezer jam is super easy and raspberries are in season!
