So that's what it takes to land @NeedleStack, huh.

BRB buying 18 acres and some sheep and a bull and some heifers.

How many 18 years olds today can say anything of the sort for themselves?

Not too many, but we are raising two boys (10 & 13) who are making & saving money by mowing lawns, 13 y/o is working on earning the rank of Eagle Scout, the younger following in his footsteps. We have raised them on a small farm (garden, chickens, horses and a couple of cows). One day they will make great providing husbands, I just hope there are quality young women for them to find.

Beautiful. We have 3 daughters ourselves. Doing what we can. I gotta be honest though, They're 5 and 2 and proving to be little drama queens. I pray they mellow out with age.

Well, things are very different now. Taxes and economy for one.

Agreed. the style of raising children has changed drastically as well. No one raises their child with the expectation that they'd have a fully functioning business and the means with which to procure themselves a wife by that age. In fact, marrying that young is generally frowned upon. Which I think is ridiculous, personally.

Seriously. I am going to work that phrase into a pick up line at some point this year. Will report back once it gets me laid.

Wow, "mediocre" of the 19th century would have kicked today's mediocre man's ass.

I want to meet a woman and have kids before I'm 25. I'm improving myself every day so I can get the best woman.

Good teeth were probably harder to come by for most of the 19th century until amalgam was invented.

Indicator of good health, just like checking a horse's choppers.
