First of all: Let me apologise for my lack of activity. I've been going through quite a bit in my life at the minute and my access to Voat is pretty intermittent already without the various interruptions that the site itself is having.
I did not expect Voat to grow as quickly as it did and I figured I could dedicate more timer sooner. As some of you are aware, my general lack of presence is annoying at best!
However, that's going to change. I can dedicate a lot more time and I'm looking to expand the Subverse in a variety of ways.
A few days ago, Strigiformes messaged me with regards to the running of the Verse and he's pretty keen on making this work. To that effect, I'd like to welcome him to moderating team. He's currently in the process of creating a custom theme and he came up with the idea of hosting a Total War Giveaway. More on that in the near future.
A couple of days ago there was a meta-post by Yuzzem, Here, about rules for the Subverse and the policy on content cross posting from our Reddit counterpart. Personally, I don't have particular strong views. We can't really help having the same content as they do in the first place and while it would be great for us to have original content, I don't see much harm in Cross posting (At least for now!)
As for rules, it was pretty short sighted of me to not include some basic guidelines for the Subverse and I apologise. However, I think this does give us a great opportunity to discuss what we might like to see added aside from the bare-bones etiquette of keeping things on-topic and toxic-free.
Finally, with the work that Strigiformes is doing and the (hopeful!) growth of /v/TotalWar, I will be looking into adding a couple more names to the moderating team. Please drop me a line if you want to get involved. We don't need more than two or three for the moment though!
I'd like to open the floor as it were to discussion about rules, content cross posting, and your general view of the subverse and the direction it's headed.
Thank you for reading.
EDIT: Shout out to /v/turnbased who want to link us on their Subverse.

Great post! Thanks again for bringing me onboard. I'll be finishing up a few drafts of the channel banner first and running them by Rawb, then making the post about the giveaway. Looking forward to seeing this place grow as well, and I'm always happy adding people on Steam and gaming/discussing Total War.
Also, thank you for your work on that meta post, Yuzzem!

I would like to see the verse rival the one at the other place. It is the main reason. I ever went there. I'll do my part and try to get some content on here

Awesome. thank you! Any concerns you had rule-wise?

I think the most important rules to have are(imo):
Those are the ones that I would personally like to see added(I pulled them from /r/totalwar). I think those would allow us to discuss the many joys of anything TW while still at the same time keeping a sort of 'respect each other' vibe in the sub.
As for the cross posting. If people are okay with it, I would basically just pull what is possible to pull over to here and I would source the information so that the OC gets credit when credit is due. I work 3rd shift in the US so I would mostly be pulling the stuff over during the night so that it would be here for people in the morning(of course...I was just seeing what people thought of the idea, ANYONE could pull something over if they wanted). I don't see how I could really pull a question someone would have over to here...but pictures, videos, articles and discussions(I would start the discussion here while citing where I got the idea) I could pull over.
Congrats and welcome /user/Strigiformes :D
Lastly - I, personally, don't think you need to apologize for having a life outside of voat :) especially with a mod or two in place to manage the ship :) Here is quote I like about life happening: "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans" - John Lennon

Voat ate my reply!
Basic gist of it was I was going to get a basic ruleset down by Monday and I don't mind the cross posting of articles/videos etc but I would like to try to keep our discussions more original than a carbon copy of the subreddit

"I would like to try to keep our discussions more original than a carbon copy of the subreddit"
I agree, however...the issue is we simply do not have a large enough community atm to really even carry a discussion :/. The other site has 37,589 subs and BARELY has daily pics posted, discussions over there don't happen often even with 37k subs.
Look at the posts we have already and how many comment/upvoat compared to how many are subbed. I can limit my personal x-posting to just images and articles...but that will result(imo from what I have seen the last 2 weeks here) in little to no discussion.
The more content and items that interest people, the more will come and comment in exchange. The less content there is for people to comment about, the less people will come here and comment. Most people won't create or post OC. It is a small group of people that do make OC and post things(even on /r/totalwar). The silent majority is real and most people just want things to up/downvoat and to comment on(discussions).
I won't be posting discussions if people don't want them, but I worry about actually conversations happening here since majority won't OP a discussion.
EDIT: So, just to give an example of what I mean by silent majority...take the top commented post of all time over at /r/totalwar. It has 1371 comments(with an actual less amount of unique people commenting, many people commented multiple times). Even if each comment was a unique person that is only 2.2% of the 37,589 subs there. That is the TOP commented on post over there AND it was a giveaway post for free R2 copies. The silent majority will always exist but you need stuff for them to actually take part in or they will check here a couple times, see nothing really new(or click on the few new pictures) and leave. After a while of doing that and not really seeing anything here...they won't keep coming back.
