On reddit you had stuff like SRS and SRD that centered around "meta" discussions and "drama".
Focusing on the negatives, you wind up with stuff like brigading, subreddit "wars" that serve little purpose, harassment of individuals, etc.
You have SRD saying in big bold letters on their page not to vote and participate on the threads they spotlight, threatening to ban any users that violate that rule.
But let's get real, does anyone seriously think anyone follows that rule? One can easily backspace out the "np", or log out and use an entirely different username to participate and vote. There is no way they can enforce that rule.
I'm interested in your thoughts on the above, and what you think are the benefits of "meta" subs are, if any.
