I frequented TD quite a bit, and for any onlookers trying to figure out why the mods are being called out: technically this IS the subverse we were all directed to, but Voat already has had a TD-like sub, v/TheDonald, for a long time. The difference between the two being that v/TheDonald is not heavily moderated, meaning opposing opinions are not deleted (free speech), while v/thepedes seems to be setup to do exactly the opposite (what we're used to back on Reddit).

Whereas on Reddit heavy moderation is the norm, heavy moderation doesn't fly on Voat. The controversy here is that the mods created their own sub so that they could continue performing heavy moderation, thus censoring opinions or people they don't like. In the context of TD leaving Reddit over censorship and rule imposition, it seems hypocritical and insane for TD users to come to v/thepedes and not realize after some investigation that v/TheDonald is where we truly belong.

Just have both. There is a certain level of civilized behavior, ediquette or couth that many people want. The_Donald did a good job of curating actual news, humor while keeping things for the most part civil.

The whole edgelord mentality has its place I guess but typing nigger and fagoot 1000 times a day doesn't really help free speach in any society. It gets old. Bring some substance to the table and stop crying about muh forums.

Up/downvoats curate content here, mechanisms are different.

Censorship is against Voats core principles as clearly explained in the FAQ linked at the bottom of every page.

Power hungry mods don't fit in on Voat, their supporters find that out quickly. Can't come on Voat with a rEddit mind set and expect it to go well, the vast majority of us have turned our backs to their brand of censorous media aggregation.

It's like moving from Syria to Russia and trying to enforce Sharia law. Nothing good will come out of it.

Posting to /v/thedonald that /v/thepedes was the official trump sub on Voat within minutes of creating it was the stupidest, most destructive thing any of you could have done. Literally asking for a severe welcome hazing.

Agree. TD is my first place to check for news, but I also check voat, WH.gov, etc. Anything but msm, right? On any site it's their rules, I have no problem complying. We need all available community sources open to us as Trump supporters and patriots, imo.

If this subverse was called /v/politics and claimed to be a neutral zone for differing opinions then you can cry censorship but this sub is dedicated to supporting our president which implies to have a certain set of rules. We want to dedicate this subverse STRICTLY for supporting our president. We should ban people that randomly call people "fags, niggers, kikes, whatever" not because it is offensive but because not only it is completely unrelated to the theme of this subverse we are trying to establish but it is also counter-productive aswell.

Obviously, the concept of a "theme" is too much for a 12 year old retard to comprehend. I hope the mods will clean up trash such as yourself once we get settled here.

It wasn't against the sub rules for one, it's 100% subjective deletion of a popular post.

The community decides what it wants with votes, not mods. This is Voat, go through the FAQ at the bottom of every page.

Show respect to Voat by adopting it's culture & principles, don't try to make it rEddit 2.0 or nothing good will come out of it.

Exactly. And if the community doesn't like the actions of these mods then they will obviously not be hanging around. You also don't get to decide what the mods of their own subverse can and cannot do.

Also, you people can't expect us to respect Voat when the moment we join you basically block every attempt to organize ourselves. We cannot even comment/vote because you downvote us. Basically, you are the ones censoring us because you disagree with our opinions.
