Available for free as audio book on libravox. Not a bad recording either. Good ole whodunit.

After that Lone Star Planet is another good follow up. The Texan accent is spot on, must be a native. Solid shoot the interlopers type stuff.

Cool, haven’t got into libravox recordings for a while, seriously considered recording for them at one point... thanks for the reminder they have some cracking audio books!

It's hit and miss with the older recordings, for sure, but with the cost of recording equipment coming down the natural talent is coming out of the woodwork. That's why audible is pushing the director and alternate voice elements, to create a differentiated product.

I listen a lot as I do a lot of driving, librivox has really educated me. Lots of fantastic literary material I'd never have discovered without it.

Of you like adventure the 39 Steps and sequels are well worth it. Let me know if you find anything good.

Also, just finishing Little Fuzzy by H Beam Piper at the moment (read by an English lady). One of his best written works IMO. Shows his spread of knowledge and grammatical flexibility. Just reading his other stuff you could be mistaken for thinking he is a one trick horse.
