Keys, wallet, phone. However I'm allowed to carry a gun if I want. I really should start carrying the gun. Also which Victorinox do you carry?

Trekker. They come with a couple of options. I can't link to amazon here, but I have the one-handed Trekker with a non-serrated blade. Outstanding knife.

Do you actually use the other things that come with that knife? If so, how often?

FYI you can kind of link amazon here, just replace parts of the URL with (dot) or whatever. For example https://smile.amazon (dot) com/Victorinox-One-Hand-Trekker-Non-Serrated-Pocket/dp/B001DZT0M0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1548614167&sr=8-3&keywords=victorinox+Trekker

In my phone I carry an app called a Clinometer. It's a dial level/plumb, and I'm surprised at how often I use it. Definitely agree about the small flashlight. One AAA, one bulb, great to have. Used to have a Leatherman, but now I'm down to one of those disc-shaped Olfa retractable knives on my keychain. Though I keep a tool kit in the car, including the Leatherman...

A tool kit in the car is a whole discussion by itself, and a great idea. I am a fixer, so I use hand tools constantly. I carry an old leather laptop case in behind the seat in my truck with basic hand tools in it. Screwdrivers, wrenches, wire cutters and crimpers, a nut driver set, a set of assorted bits (I use Torx a lot) and a mishmash of other stuff. Seems like whenever I'm at someone's house they rope me into a fixit job: "Hey, I have this circuit breaker that keeps popping off. I can't hire an electrician, can you figure out what's wrong?" Circuit breakers cost like $10 and take 5 minutes to swap out. Knowing how to fix stuff is a lifelong learning experience and worthwhile.

There is an episode of King of the Hill where Hank whips out his ever present multitool and children are stupefied in wonderment

I carry man purse almost everywhere. It's a Maxpedition sling pack. I have a knife, first aid kit, phone charger, toque, gloves, basic medications, Chapstick, extra money, extra glasses, sun glasses, and a bunch of other odds and ends.

I've used the first aid kits on other people as much as myself. It amazes me how many people don't keep one handy.

How do you like the Maxpedition?

Love it. Had it for 10 years now. It's my carry on bag when we travel. I bring it to work everyday and just about anywhere I go. It's still almost brand new, save for a couple clips breaking. I hear they back their stuff up but they were not important, so I'm just not worrying about it.

It's also a great bag to CC with, if I could do that up here in Canuckistan.

Good on you for carrying. But why carry that antique design? Reliability, safety, size, weight, and (depending on what you get) capacity are all inproved for the purpose of concealed carry.

I get that polymer “wonder nines” a la Glock aren’t as sexy as a hammer-fired, steel-framed Hi-Power, but it doesn’t make as much sense to carry something like that any more.

I've had it for ages. Thinking about switching since with my 'ailments' I can hardly cock it anymore. Thinking a large hammered revolver.

I used to see old timers carry a lighter just to light other people's smokes when they don't even smoke.
