Is this similar to the bouncing umbrella in the jfk assassination? The guy hitting the car was to confirm the mission was a go.

Was this bat thing just a coincidence and the driver really was going full akbar? I would think his speed would have been much higher if he was.

Was he planning to stop until his car was attacked? He panicked out of fear of becoming Reginald Denny.

The real problem is that this event was reported with certainty. No one is literally sure what happened yet most think they're sure. We need a more sober media.

Denny was attacked by four men, pulled from his International Road Tractor and brutally beaten, sustaining serious head trauma and other injuries. There was no apparent motive outside of racial hatred. As a result of the injuries he suffered during the attacks, Denny had to undergo years of rehabilitative therapy, and his speech and ability to walk were permanently damaged.

This is pretty close to my working hypothesis. In that video, it looks like he's approaching the crowd slowly possibly about to stop. From the other angle, it looks like he's full speed ramming the crowd. Which video do we see plastered everywhere? I think that bat was some sort of signal, "okay, you're in position, Go! hit the gas".

Not just the trial, but from online, to offline, to people behind the great firewall of china.

What I know for sure, is that there is not enough information from just videos alone. I would like to know what the driver says, the person that hit the car with an object, and credible witnesses on the street; as much as one can verify without letting their bias compete with an accurate depiction.

What I hope, is that the driver didn't set out to hurt people, but like many things in life I will never really know the truth - even 16 years later from the event.
