My favorite part:

It is part of a 'theory' that Israel, together with Russia and China, spies on the United States. As Israel’s ambassador to the United States I saw this undercurrent, which is also sometimes anti-Semitic.

Calm down guys. It's just anti-semitism. Damn anti-semites.

I also liked his assertion that the ONLY way you can believe facts is if you can answer the question "why would Israel want to do this?". Which has a pretty damn obvious answer - to draw the US into the war (or simply give them a reason to give the public). Not that it needs an answer, when you have a recording of an Israeli pilot saying "But it's an American ship. I can see the flag." Before bombing the damn boat...

My favorite part:

The authors’ bottom line is that then-U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson was behind the attack, in an attempt to blame then-Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser – an excuse that would then enable the United States to join the Six-Day War.

Sounds like something the CIA would do, to get an excuse to "liberate" a country that has strategic resources (the Suez Canal in this case)

Yeah I definitely believe that line of argument. And likely Israel was a means of accomplishing it, since I doubt an American would fire on an American ship, orders or otherwise.

Anti-semitism and conspiracy theories go hand in hand.
