I'm not so sure this is a good thing.

From an outside perspective the alt/right looks the part of concerned citizens standing up against this evil terrorist organization that is Antifa. Ordinary citizens in plain clothes or in patriotic garb clashing against the black masked terrorists. They could be your sons, daughters, neighbors, etc. It's as if many different people saw Antifa and decided to get up that day and go do something about it. No plans, no organization, just fed up. They were sick of what they saw and decided to go make their voice heard.

Now imagine the alt-right comes together under an umbrella org (FOAK). You loose some of that grass root appeal. FOAK will no doubt brand themselves and start showing up to protests "in uniform". Now instead of Antifa vs. ordinary america it looks like Antifa vs. FOAK. If anything doesn't go quite right the media will point the blame directly at FOAK and every other concerned patriot will get lumped in with them. It will unnecessarily polarize the whole situation and no doubt lead to escalation.

Does that make sense?
