I'll be honest, everybody that says it's just a shitty show, I get it. I REALLY do. But I fucking loved it. Personal favorite moments:
- Finding out that Charles has a pilot
- Kaz being chagrinned that his nemesis decided to wear a midnight-blue suit to the black-suits-only party
- Lexy lecturing Kaz about being rapey
But to be honest, there's one single detail that I love more than anything else. And I may just be imagining it. Kaz Kaan is a preposterous caricature of teen angst in a super-rich 1%-er social station. His circumstances are fairly well unhinged from anything resembling actual danger, value to society, political influence, or anything other than 'a social group with bullshit rules'. And yet, Kaz seems to be straight-acted by a Jaden Smith who is talentlessly working as hard as he can to portray an authentic, deep character.
I honestly think that what pulled me through the show so hard was Jaden trying as hard as he could (and failing, imho) to play Kaz as a deep character with something important to say. It added this surreal note to the show that kept me grinning and yelling "What the FUCK?" at my screen in an almost giddy, giggly tone.
Did any of y'all faggots enjoy it?
