your example under comics conveys the entirety of its message nonverbally, and has cultural and historic significance.

Regardless of the message, it is not suitable content for v/pics. It does not belong in v/pics. Plain and simple.

v/pics is for photographs of people, places, things, not photographs of other media (newspapers, etc)

I disagree, as does rule #3 of the sub. Plain and simple.

Edit: your example under screenshots is visually pretty cool too.

No it is in violation of rule #3 as rule three specifically states "no comics". I am not saying the comic is not good content, or the screenshot isn't visually cool, I am saying they are NOT PHOTOGRAPHS.

The tagline for v/pics is "A place to share photographs and pictures." The comic is a photograph of newspaper. The screenshot is a photograph of a computer screen. Copy of a copy. Not suitable content for the subverse.
