I imagine they must have had smaller sizes at some point, but judging by how full the section was it couldn't have been massively depleted. And judging by the gross tonnage of the folks I saw shopping there, they're probably just providing the sizes that their customers demand (i.e. fit into).

If you have that issue again, for shorts you should just go to the youth section. Since they aren't pants you don't need to worry about them being too short in the leg, and unless you have super swole thighs they won't be too tight in the leg.

I sort of always assumed that most places had mostly large and extra large and none of my size, usually small or sometimes medium, because people who buy the cute clothes that I want are small and petite like myself. And the larger sizes are just the leftovers. But it makes sense for there to be more larger sizes provided given that the number of larger people has increased so drastically.
